The Mehari Centre is a grassroots, Black-led nonprofit based in Ottawa that supports the wellbeing, integration, and empowerment of Eritrean newcomers. Rooted in Eritrean values of compassion, resilience, and community, the Centre provides culturally and linguistically grounded programs—from children’s education and women’s wellness circles to tax clinics, wraparound support, and mental health outreach. It offers a safe, welcoming space where Eritrean families can heal, connect, and thrive.
